Google Building Mobile OS

We’ve been hearing more and more about the Google phone in the past couple of days, so there must be some truth to some of it, right?

The latest rumors indicate that Google’s mobile phone started as a project with the acquisition of a mobile software company called Android. The team that joined Google along with the company developed a Linux-based operating system, and is currently looking for a mobile phone manufacturer and carrier for providing this system to the masses. Some sources say that the phone will come out in early September. With Google’s other partnerships with Apple, AT&T and Sprint Nextel, could the Google phone shake up any existing relationships? Or can we all operate with the understanding that Google will try everything once?

Sooooo...a google phone to do what...search for info while you're on the phone???

I agree but I thik Google will add every feature that's on the sites to the phone or as many as possible. If they don't the phone wont sale becuase right now there's a flood or phones on the market now.

Well if that picture any indication of what it will look like I'm all in for one but would like to know more features then a simple search.

Google is just trying to hit as much of the market for internet connectivity as it can. It's a business model that has mostly worked for them (consider how a place called Altavista used to be THE search engine)

Altvista use to be the search engine? How far back was that damn. The main one I used to use all the time was infoseek, notice how infoseek work exactly like google almost, hence why it was my search engine of choice.

Give or take 10 years at least. All other search engines either a.) sucked or b.) used altavista as their base and organized the searches *cough*Yahoo*
