| LG To Release YouTube Phone with Direct Upload ![]() LG is jumping on the mobile video bandwagon with its own YouTube phone. It hasn’t been released yet, and the prices have not been announced either, but the phone is scheduled to be available soon, across three of the major wireless networks. The LG KU990 Viewty has a 5-megapixel camera, a touchscreen, and YouTube integration. The good thing about this phone is its ability to shoot video at 120 frames per second, which is four times higher than your standard camcorder. This means that you’ll be able to take better video clips on the go. With its YouTube integration, you can upload those new videos directly to your YouTube account. You can also watch YouTube on the handheld as well. Samsung is another cell phone manufacturer that has taken the initiative to create a YouTube phone for Europe. | |||

| Sin's Playtoy Sins: 2,608 Xations: 16% ![]() | Good point Raven. I like youtube in all but not enough to buy a whole new phone so I can upload stupid things we do when I'm away from home. I think it can seriously wait. I mean no one is going to die if it doesn't get online til that evening. | |

| SiN-X Admin Sins: 2,320 Xations: 8% ![]() | I can already watch youtube videos on my phone now. And since I've never ever caught anything worth uploading to youtube to begin with wouldn't do me any good. Anything I would catch on video I wouldn't want it on youtube. | |

| Paradox Sins: 3,847 Xations: 14% ![]() | 120 fps is overkill for many reasons. Think about it this way, standard theatre movies (99%) are at 12 fps. Standard broadcast and recorded video is 30 (with a very select few HDTV clips being at 60fps). Most home theatre setups use a rendering method to convert DVD, HD DVD, Bluray etc back down to 12 displayed fps (to better sync the movie to the original displayed fields). The human eye sees around 85 fps (with most monitors, and windows XP defaulting to 75 fps). So far the only effective known reason for higher fps then 85 is when game worlds updates are tied internally to the displayed FPS meaning control is captured more often, leading to more accurate control. So what are the (minimum) 35 extra FPS doing for you? Wasting space. If your connection computer can even handle the playback at 120 fps your eyes are missing 35 frames for every second. At 120 FPS that's about one third of the rendered fields that are not being interpreted at all. Last edited by Hsoolien; 08-26-2007 at 07:15 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost | |

| Sin's Playtoy Sins: 2,608 Xations: 16% ![]() | They are proably jumping the stats. The camera could possible go that fast but when you get it it will be about half. As you said Hsool, it would definitely be an overkill or something that most people wouldn't be able to see or tell the difference. Why would you need a 120fps video for video on youtube. They will convert them down anyway. | |

| Paradox Sins: 3,847 Xations: 14% ![]() | I forgot that most monitors in use today can't even display 120fps (fastest 19" LCD is 125, but the average is about 100), so you're losing frames before your eyes can, and when the FPS of a source i higher then the display, you start getting screen tearing artifact (the monitor has refreshed mid source draw), which is why by default XP locks down Vsync | |

| SiN-X Admin Sins: 2,320 Xations: 8% ![]() | That is true. You would have to be in a serious rush if you really needed to upload to youtube moblee. This phoe is only for youtube fanatics who stay on the side all day everyday. | |

| Paradox Sins: 3,847 Xations: 14% ![]() | Why i still have a digital camera instead of getting one with a phone incorporated, QUALITY Low end digital cameras take better photos on average then the highest end camera phones, why? 'BETTER' Better lenses (always so far, I've yet to see a camera phone with decent lenses) Better CCD (that part that actually process the image data, always higher quality in digi cams) Better Image quality, my 4.1megapixel camera from almost five years ago is still higher res then most of the camera phones released this year Better picture control. fstop, ASA, flashes, these are all rare or non existent on camera phones, and all needed at one time or another Better auto focus. I rarely get blurred pictures with my digicam, the same can not be said of most photos I've seen taken off a camera phone So the only thing the camera phone actually is better at is convenience. the ability to play music would be nice I'll admit, but as for amalgamating cameras and phones, I see a few years before they are good enough to replace my digital camera. | |
