The word "fail" should be banned from use in British classrooms and replaced with the phrase "deferred success" to avoid demoralizing pupils, a group of teachers has proposed.

Members of the Professional Association of Teachers (PAT) argue that telling pupils they have failed can put them off learning for life.

A spokesman for the group said it wanted to avoid labeling children. "We recognize that children do not necessarily achieve success first time," he said.

"But I recognize that we can't just strike a word from the dictionary," he said.

The PAT said it would debate the proposal at a conference next week

That's just like the stupid rule here that says you can't recieve less then 40% (I think, it might be 30 something) as a grade for anything...

yeah i heard about that on the radio..i was cracking up...first it was dodgeball..and now this...come on now...kids are kids..and either way it goes they are going to be upset..they will get over it in five minutes...

This is so stupid. Our kids are growing up so weak now. First it almost against the law to spank them. Can't say this can't say that. And we wonder why kids aren't doing as well as they used to. Parents blamming the schools becuase they don't want to educated their kids.

Even with teaching them to be competitve, inherint North American laziness will always reduce our scolastic achievment compared to the rest of the world, especially ina society that lauds lesser talented celbrityism over actual achievment (ex. The person who cures aids will just not be as popular as Paris Hilton, and she's only famous for being famous, the popularity of relatity television and talentless summer blockbusters over movies with actors that can actually act instead of look good, and cliche ridden page turners over thoughtful literature (steven king over say Mark Twain)

OMG what the hell...shit i'm worried about poppin' JJ when she acts up cuz of this shit on "u hit ur kids...cps takes them" but then yet ur a bad parent if u let ur child walk all over u ...wtf are we suppose to do ...put a child in a corner and they'll find some game outta it...well i just hope that they don't have that over here in their schools cuz it just doesn't make any fuccin' sence
