Site Updating Soon?

Yes, the site will be updating soon but unsure when. Many of you have been waiting for the next update for a while now. And as much as all the admins been wanting to get the updated done there were too many reasons to wait. The original reasons to upgrade would of only giving a few new features but now the number of new features will be flooded. Between Raven, Sunisa and myself trying out all the new stuff and possible problems we have came do a decision. We are going to need some help. We have talked it over with Sin and he has agreed to let us promote 1 or 2 dedicated user to help take care of the site, and to deal with the many new features. Should be a huge increae in speed as well for the site since we will be able to removed alot of extra stuff. Since the community here is pretty warm and drama free there isn't much work that will need to be done most observing and helping members if needed. Inform Sin if you are intersted. Please post here at what times you will be able to be online and access the site, for example very early mornings like after midnight...etc. This will not require much of your time, mostly less then it takes to respond to an email at a giving time.

I'm doing some pre-testing right now. So far there there's only 3 things that could be lost during the update.

1 thing is the point system for arcade, there's a temp fix for it but could cause problems later on so we keeping an eye out on that.

2nd thing is just the tag system, we rather not lose this or have to start over but its not something dier needed to worry about so we can let this one slide if needed.

3rd thing and is the comments on profiles. As it stands right now all profile comments will be wiped out. It still early to tell forsure but this may be overcome before the actually update.

Everything else is good so far. Even better privacy and security. Also alot of features to help each other with threads and topics. So more interaction between members. We are thinking of just removing the whole chatroom since we don't really use it and it would remove 4 extra big pieces of coding, everyone's input would be appreciated on that.

I was only in the chatroom once when it was mentioned a while back that it was fixed. other than that I haven't used it, I do look when I get on here though and it says there are always 0 people in the chatroom.

Also, I had nother question. is there a way to log out of the site? I have not had to log in since I first started using the site and my browser was having isues with it. now that things are updated I never have to. I ask because when I was at my moms or family's house and I wanted to check the site, well I dont want them running across it and being able to access anything just because I wasn't logged out.

Yeah that little bug will be fixed aswell. We was changing so much about the site back then that we never got that back on the site. That was mainly due to all those auto log out problems.

ah, that makes sense. so any sugestions to safeguard things so my brother doesn't go snooping and such? I know to delete the history and I think my parents computer is set up to do so daily...other than that i cant think of anything

Not sure how your computers are set up but if everyone has their own account on the computer then you really don't have to worry about it. Also you can keep all your settings and your stuff private. If you use the ame account you can always look at everyone elses stuff and messenger conversations and myspace stuff ...etc.

When ever I clean my "Temp Internet Files" and "Cookies" i always have to log back in, but i also have to do that for every other site.

So far with testing and discussion there will be 10 items of coding removed during the update. Trust us, althouh so far that sounds like alot, they will not be missed much if at all. Considering that the chatroom counts as 3 of them alone.

OK there's been more streamlining going on. 2 more items removed and replace with just 1. This is very good since one of the items was just HUGE. For everyone who don't understand why this is so important. The more streamline the site gets the faster the site will be, also future updates will go alot faster.

Just looked at what's going on with the new stuff 17 items of code will be eliminated. 4 of them were chatroom related. There are 4 problems we facing so far if we was to do the update today so Sin isn't trying to rush it. There will be new smilies as well for your posting fun. There's been a few enhancements for some features that Hsool and GIR use. Right now I would say don't expected the update until New Years right now, unless Sin finds away around those 4 problems sooner. A few sections on the site will definitely be redone. We would give a list of new features but it would be seriously insane, so plan on taking atleast a few hours or a day to see what's new and beens changed.

I can't wait. I haven't been here long and I'm still trying to find options on this site. Bout time I figure out most things you going to make tons more for me to play with and mess up .

its christams and new years take you time on this, put it on hold. have fun then come back after the new years. its not like the site is going anywhere.

Sinny has a habit of not taking breaks when doing things fo other people. He's pretty damn stubborn that way. I so excited to see this. I know its going to be great.

I seen it but hasn't took a test drive on it yet. From talking to Sinny about it it wont be ready until after the new year. There's a few bugs here and there that wont be fixed until proably after then. Trying to keep all the features for the admins aren't as easy as he hoped. There aren't many big bugs, 3 at the most, but there's a few small ones here and there.

Passion

Sinny has thought about doing some of the changes now and do the major update later on. If the update appears to be awhile before happening he's going to just some of the changes now and the update later, but originally and right now he plan on donig everything at 1 time so everyone will be liked WOW.
