Freebie Goodies from AT&T/Cingular

I've been kind of out the loop for a while so I decided to called up Sinny and see what he was up to. I went to visit him, wow its been a while. Then I remember that I have to pay my cell phone bill and ask if I could use one of his cmputers to do so. Afterlogging into my account I saw a wierd tab that I just never really looked at. I asked Sinny about it and he told me that was added some time ago. If you haven't looked at you account online ever or just really looked at it, go take a look. We all got 200 free text messages per month. So if I start seeing alot of txt's from me now you know why. Sinny you already know you going to get alot from me.

Here's a list of the changes

When AT&T & Cingular were seperate:

• AT&T - free incoming txt messages, you only pay for outgoing messages
• Cingular - pay per text or have a plan

When AT&T and Cingular were joined and became just Cingular:

• Cingular - pay per text or have a plan

When AT&T retook Cingular:

• 200 free txt and pic messages per month

I never noticed it. Since I never go over my minutes I don't even look at all that stuff. Just login pay and that's it. Only takes a few mouse clicks really I think something like 4 or 5 and you done. Atleast now don't have to worry about friends with AT&T getting charges for messages now.

Text messaging down in the states seems to be much more expensive then up here, all the big services allow for infinite incoming messages, one allows free outgoing as well, another offers a bundle at about 15$ that includes some free internet features, the other I'm not sure having never talked to anybody paying them.

Voice is more up here though.

Canada and the US have some of the highest cell data costs in the world. It's cheaper to use a cell in some African nations.

I never really took time to notice that. I don't txt much anyway but still pretty good. Also since it includes pic messages too that really good.

I not big on txt either. The only people I text are Spawnschick and Sinny, but its never anything important its always something dumb and cute.

I used to text a lot, but I dont have cingular/at&t - I had sprint which was crap because you had to get online to check the text messages...now with t-mobile I don't do it as often but I think i get like 400 for $4 - that is the cheapest plan they have

200 text msgs is perfect for me. One becuase its free, also I don't txt much but I have alot of updates I recieve via text.

aww this sucks for me i have tmobile!! i pay 15 dollars a month extra for my texting lol! maybe i should switch?

Damn girl either you txt a lot more then I think you do or that is really high priced. I thought that even unlimited txt plans are like $7-$9.

I have t-mobile and I pay $4 for 400...but I think for unlimited pic and text messaging its like $15...I bet that is what she is talking about

lol yeah i think i use more than a thousand messages a month or somethiing lol that was before i got my computer now i think i am gonna change my plan!! take off some minutes and stuff because now i dont even use the phone to keep me busy lol!

Cell phones have become so much the norm that since everyone has cell phones these days people actually use them alot less then they use to.

I get a ot of updates via text, and the cost of voice makes them the only viabel option during the day when the recipiant is a mobile. Christ, the minimal voice I do required for my job costs me 40$ above my plan rates, and I can only drop that by $10 by going the best plan for voice.

I used to text alot but I got tired of it especially if I have to respond to something more then twice.

Txting is really for the youngsters I think. I think the older crowd uses it more effencintly. Like when you think the person is busy or maybe its late or just can't really talk on the phone at the moment. Especially if there's people around the the person and they nosey so you try to be a bit more dicreet. Instead of just going back and forth texting.
