A lot of people enjoyed swimming in tomato pulp during the annual "Tomatina" (tomato fight) in the Mediterranean village of Bunol, near Valencia, August 29, 2007. The origin of the tomato fight is disputed - everyone in Bunol seems to have a favourite story - but most agree it started around 1940, in the early years of the dictatorship of General Francisco Franco.

I'm the same way. I always wanted to do this. I seen so many videos of people throwing them out windows on people too. Next year definitely going to do this.

yea i'd want to be in the street though...but wearing goggles. i cannot even begin to imagine the burn if that gets in your eyes

I heard about this once some years ago so I didn't know it was an every year thing. Guess I learned my new fact for the day. Although I'm not a fan of getting into a wole messy scene so can I just watch from the side line?

Looks like I should start making some reservations for this fieldtrip I will be taking soon. Atleast I get to hit a certain person with a tomato

This makes me think, does anyone know if getting hit by a tomato getting thrown at you hurts?

I'm just wondering.

Mostly depends on how ripe the tomato is, and how cold it is.

lol wierd analogy.

I just thought about something. I remember people making potato guns. If you could make a tomato version or maybe just a sling shot you could really laungh and hit rom a safe and clean distance
