Apple and AT&T Announce iPhone Service Plans

Apple and AT&T today announced service plans for iPhone, 4 days before its release in the US at 6pm local time on Friday, June 29. The plans are $59.99/mo for 450 minutes, $79.99 for 900 minutes, and $99.99 for 1350 minutes, and all include unlimited data, 200 SMS messages, rollover minutes, and unlimited mobile-to-mobile calling. Any other standard AT&T service plan may also be used. A two year service plan is required, with a $175 cancellation fee if terminated early. In addition, activations are done via iTunes, so only the hardware is purchased in the store. Interestingly, activation of a contract via iTunes is required to enable the iPod/syncing functionality of the phone as well. (It will remain to be seen whether there are workarounds for this for those who only want the iPod functionality of iPhone, and whether the iPhone is easily unlockable for those who wish to try it on alternate carriers, and so on.)

man! i am so pissed that i picked t-mobil over cingular/at&t when i switched. I hope someone figures out how to unlock it so I can use it on the t-mobile network. I want this phone like you wouldn't believe!

Sin got one last week and gave it to me to test it out. So far it is pretty tight but not sure how its going to compare to other phones already out there. I'm proably the last person who should be doing this but hey wtfever. He knows if it pisses me off I'm going to through it.

i like the iPhone... my coworkers were speculating last night on whether or not this phone will have the same kind of hype as the PS3 --if so we'll get some people to stand in line and buy a couple phones to flip for profit..

the phone is rich in 'ooo-ahhh' (! I said Ooh Ahhh --mattress giant) -- ok anyway.. i'm saying the phone is rich in special effects... alot of faing music in or out when a cal comes in and sliding bars around to unlock or power down the phone.

my fear is he phone getting scratched, or dropped, or stolen --there better be some insurance bought with this one becuse it looks very accident prone and easy to break.

im going to chek it out, i need to get a cell, i have not had one for voer 4 years now, and im almost financhaly stable, so im going to check on it, i was goign to get a ipd, but if its also a iposih also, that is also good for me.

I'd like it to be my next phone, but my carriere is CDMA, and so far the phone only comes in GSM format. Which BTW should make it pretty easy to move to other american services one would think...

HECK YES! I would love to have one of these phones! I am so ridiculously unhappy with my stupid RAZR that I am ready to just throw it in the garbage. It would also cut down on all the crap I carry in my purse, phone, iPod, earbuds, hands free ear thing for my phone. I just see it as an all in one thing. Plus if i didnt spend the money on that then it would just be on something else that is useless im sure.

and as far as snakeeyes fears about it getting lost/stolen/dropped (which i tend to do a lot) I would have to get insurance and a good cover to amke sure i dont screw it up.

Alright so far its not that great. It looks pretty good but I already really tired of it. First I have to get a computer with internet acess and the latst version of itunes installed to use this thing. Already pissed me off becuase no one told me about this and I couldn't use the phone once I open it. but no.

Activation is really simple nothing to that.

Touch screen everything. I've seen this on Sin's phone so nothing really new, but atleast on his phone you actually have a choice and a few options.

Customize, wtfever! You don't have much you can customize besides the wallpaper and some colors. It's not a big deal unless you ever had a Treo or Blaccberry ot any of those Pokket Computers things. Sin says there's another way to change a few more things but its really hard to do for most people to even try.

Not really worry about screen scratches but scratches on everything else.

Music syncing is easy as hell, exact same as ipod, but be very careful, you could overload your phone with music and videos very easily without knowing ahead of time.

It's already so far but I haven't tried doing everything yet on it. I'll give more updates later.

So far nothing special. I'll give you more time to finish up on it but right now I'm not really hype for this phone any more.

It would work well for the uses I would make of it. That said, the newest version of iTunes, fuck, it won't even start on my comp for some reason (waiting for the next update, hoping like hell that one will)
