| Racism alarms Obama's backers Danielle Ross was alone in an empty room at the Obama campaign headquarters in Kokomo, Ind., a cellphone in one hand, a voter call list in the other. She was stretched out on the carpeted floor wearing laceless sky-blue Converses, stories from the trail on her mind. It was the day before Indiana's primary, and she had just been chased by dogs while canvassing in a Kokomo suburb. But that was not the worst thing to occur since she postponed her sophomore year at Middle Tennessee State University, in part to hopscotch America stumping for Barack Obama. Here's the worst: In Muncie, a factory town in the east-central part of Indiana, Ross and her cohorts were soliciting support for Obama at malls, on street corners and in a Wal-Mart parking lot, and they ran into "a horrible response," as Ross put it, a level of anti-black sentiment that none of them had anticipated. "The first person I encountered was like, 'I'll never vote for a black person,' " recalled Ross, who is white and just turned 20. "People just weren't receptive." | |||

If peolpe actually wanted to know the truth and facts, then there wouldn't be all these religious people believing in things which have been proven false.

| Platinum Soldier Sins: 546 Xations: 68% ![]() | True well if it comes down to Obama and McCain, it should be an interesting race to be elected president. Hey Nina check this out, I was checking on the Fox 26 website earlier and I saw the news clip of some people in Marietta Georgia were showing of T-shirts that had Curious George on the front of it and it says quote "Obama T-Shirt Sparks Protest at Georgia Restaurant" so basically it just says Obama in 08 at the bottom of the picture of Curious George eating a banana and some people think its racially offensive so it made me think of your Thread and how some guy said he wouldn't vote for a black man, and I'm thinking gosh some people just take everything seriously but I don't if you look at the picture of the shirt I don't see anything wrong with it unless they are saying that Obama acts like Curious George in 08, who knows, anyway I just thought I let you know oh and the link is http://www.myfoxhouston.com/myfox/pa...Y&pageId=1.1.1 and if you see the video its like to some people it is and the guy who is selling the t-shirt says that its not meant to be offensive but the people who are protesting took it way out of hand so I don't know what do you think? Clinton is just talking shit becuase she's been losing the whole time and still is. With Obama no one talks about his views or policies, all the talks all just race or stuff other then about him. | |

I haven't kept up with the news until today ![]() hugo281 added 2 Minutes and 10 Seconds later...:Update: Quote:
Yeah but McCain isn't going to end the war if he takes the presidency, he said that he wants to continue the policies that Bush already set into motion so pretty much its going to like as if Bush never left office but yeah other than that McCain has some good points too Last edited by hugo281; 05-14-2008 at 02:06 PM. | Paradox Sins: 3,774 Xations: 65% ![]() | McCain is about the worst thing that could happen to the US come next election, even Hillary would be better. Two stupid McCain policies off the top of my head being: 1.) continuation of the Iraq war, the most unpopular war to be a part of, ever. The Direct driving force of Americas economic slump, the reason America owes more per person then it ever has 2.) the Gas Tax Vacation. Sounds great doesn't it, the evil government does not take their thirty some odd cent tax on gas for four months of the year. two things wrong with that one... a.) If ever American household drove a hummer slightly over aver distance they would save an amazing 25$ a month, 100$ in the year. Still sound good? Check point b b.) creates a 10billion$ infrastructure deficit, you know all the bridges collapsing, it's because there already isn't enough money to just maintain repairs on the roads you have while building the new roads you need, now there's 10billion$ less, that's 50 some odd bridges repaired.
