Yeah we had this problem before. It happens if the controller goes into sleep mode while charging on something other then the ps3, for example your pc's usb port. I had this happen to me about a year after having it before it happened to me.

No you not way behind. Also you picked a good time to buy one since all the price drops just went into effect for all the consoles except for teh wii.

Speaking of using something other then the PS3 as a charger for it's controllers, I can't get the controllers to charge with anything but the PS3 is this a DualShock3 issue? It's aggravating I have 20 or 30 ways to charge mini USB and none but the PS3 will charge my controllers.

OK this may be something Sinny found out over at Jenn's place. Hsool, get the cable you using to charge the controller. Also what are you plugging it into to charge. Take a good look at this. Make sure that its a usb2 cable and not a usb1 cable or port. We have this problem ourselves over at her place but we never had a caple that wasn't a usb2 cable and when we changed cables it worked with no problems.
