Thread: Own an old WD HD? Get a 750GB SATA for $95 at WD's customer loyalty program

Western Digital has a customer loyalty upgrade program that allows you to get a good deal on a 750GB SATA drive or others. By entering the serial number on your drive into their warranty checker program you may be given an opportunity to buy a new hard drive from them on the cheap. You do not need to return your current drive for these discounts.

The warranty of the current (old) drive will be voided.
Use an old drive for this deal.

Of all the prices they offered me, only one stuck out as a deal:

$ 95 - 750GB WD7500AAKS ($130 shipped at Newegg)

Shipping and tax are additional - shipping was $7.00 for me, tax was the usual state rate. It still came out to be $25 cheaper than Newegg, and cheaper than Mwave before their shipping charge.

You will see "UPGRADE" under the options column of the serial number(s) you entered. From there you'll see the available options for purchase from WD's "upgrade" program.

WD Customer Loyalty Program

WD's Customer Loyalty Program offers our customers the opportunity to upgrade their current WD hard drive to a larger capacity drive with the latest technology. Under the program, customers may purchase a new drive with the full manufacturer warranty at a discounted price.

Customers taking advantage of the Loyalty Program will not be required to return the current product in their possession, and benefit by the ability to upgrade into WD’s latest technology and larger capacity drives. In order to qualify for the program, the following parameters are applicable to this special offer:

The customer's current drive must have a valid serial number that can be verified in our system.
Both out-of-warranty and in-warranty drives are eligible for upgrade to a larger capacity product at a discounted price.
Only an internal hard drive can be upgraded to another internal hard drive. External drives are currently excluded from this offer.
The customer does not need to return his or her current drive to Western Digital.
The warranty of the current drive will be voided.
Orders placed after 2:00 PM PST will be shipped the next business day.
The program is only available to residents of United States and Canada.
Only end users and resellers are eligible for this offer. Direct partners are not eligible.
Refunds are allowed only in the case of defective drives as long as the drives are returned within 30 days from the date they were received. There is a $20 restocking fee for non-defective returns.
Prices are quoted in US dollars (USD).
