It's official: our beloved YouTube is now totally owned by Google.

What does this mean for the future of YouTube? Will it go pay-per-view? What about the issue with copywriten material? More importantly, will they change the name to GooTube? I hope.

For now, however, our experts can only argue, discuss and speculate about what they think will happen to our beloved video site.

I don't know what I'll do with myself if I can't watch people injuring each other. I might have to go back to reading books.

I think Google bought them out becuase youtube is alot better and more popular the google video. All these companies buying out each other lately.

Well in business remember, the best ay to deal with compeition is to remove it.

man.. google overpaid for that. 1,6 BILLION!?!?!? come on.. thats gotta be too much. I mean realylly how much could have costed to startup you tube? lol... does anyone think google overpaid?

For a company that is already succesful? the income from the ads should pay it off before the decade is over..., if that long

I was told that this occured because You Tube couldnt handle the money that it took or that they needed in maintaining it. Yes they are sucessful but if your not pulling in any revenu to pay your staff or maintain servers then it doesn't do any good. Google saw the opportunity and bought them out and it keeps You Tube alive. I just hope Google doesnt take it and fock it up or screw it up.

Yeah I heard YouTube had issues getting the bandwidth they need, google has lots to spare guess...

I know the last couple of days I've been having problems bring up Youtube. If it wasn't a timeout issue it was downloading so slow just to bring up the front page. So I'm guessing this hasnt gone into effect yet.
