If you dig rap that rocks, and rock that hips and hops, then 4th Avenue Jones is the group for you. Combining the live band approach to hip hop of The Roots, the Black Eyed Peas or 311, and mixing it with eccentric rap-rockers N.E.R.D. and Spymob, 4th Avenue Jones have crafted a soulful sound that fuses many musical elements together to create their own thang. Their recently released debut album, Stereo: The Evolution of HipRockSoul (Lookalive/Gotee), showcases their diverse, dynamic sound, and is a welcome departure from the smooth pop of their shelved 2003 Interscope effort. Adding more edge, heart, soul and passion, they’ve risen above their industry rollercoaster ride to write some of their best songs to date. Their style is a little punkist to me but I can definitely get into it. I saw them on tv 1 time. I don't think they will make a serious impact in the music scene but they seriously got potential.
