| Something to think about In light of the many perversions and jokes we send to one another for a laugh, this is a little different: This is not intended to be a joke, it's not funny, it's intended to get you thinking. Billy Graham's daughter was interviewed on the Early Show and Jane Clayson asked her "How could God let something like this happen?" (regarding the attacks on Sept. 11). Anne Graham gave an extremely profound and insightful response. She said, "I believe God is deeply saddened by this, just as we are, but for years we've been telling God to get out of our schools, to get out of our government and to get out of our lives. And being the gentleman He is, I believe He has calmly backed out. How can we expect God to give us His blessing and His protection if we demand He leave us alone?" In light of recent events... terrorists attacks, school shootings, etc. I think it started when Madeleine Murray O'Hare (she was murdered, her body found recently) complained she didn't want prayer in our schools, and we said OK. Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school. The Bible says thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbor as yourself. And we said OK. Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn't spank our children when they misbehave because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr. Spock's son committed suicide). We said, "an expert should know what he's talking about." And we said OK. Now we're asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don't know right from wrong, and why it doesn't bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves. Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it out. I think it has a great deal to do with "WE REAP WHAT WE SOW." Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell. Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says. Funny how you can send 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing. Funny how lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene articles pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion of God is suppressed in the school and workplace. Are you laughing? | |||

Murderers have existed for centuries, and some very horrible things have been done in the name of God (Crusades, Slavery, pre-revolution France). Childern today suffer form the fact that people are so obssesed with their image and standing these days they don't have the time to properly pay attention to the rearing of their child. And it's stong christian societies that tend to lean most strongly to crass commercialism.(sp?). Religion is a form of control, used by those with money and power to keep money and power out of the hands of everyone else. It was used buy the Catholic church in the 1400's to control the peasent class It's used today by the Bush Regime today, they'll protect your moral and ethical laws gainst abortion and gay marriage, and fight the holy war in Iraq to defend your right to buy your gas guzzling SUV's. Meanwhile he rapes the american economy in the name of god and the poor get poorer and the rich get richer. People do not need a god or church to be a good person. they need a society that punishes crimes against humanity (hate crimes, murder, property crimes) and is less focused on material wealth. Most middle european countries have very relaxed religious viws, they are by most religions morraly corupt, and sinners to a t. but crime is lowest in these same countries (per capita)

I am simply saying that instead of wasting time theorizing and catagorizing your children by the way they behave and making excuses for their behavior... pay a lil more attention to them. "God" is too much of a controvertial subject to push on others... and just like you have your facts that contraindicate the subject, there is evidence to support the theory as well. I personally believe that "image" and "style" and "popularity" and "attention" is what leads people to behave out of the ordinary. The whole subject is over dramatized.

| Iron King Sins: 2,599 Xations: 0% ![]() | Thank you Kitty. I am not trying to push religion or God on any one. I just recieved this as an email and it really got me thinking. I myself don't like church cuz I personally find it mind numbingly boring! And I don't like the subject of "God" being pushed in me, or other people's beliefs. But as you read, regardless of whether you believe in God or not, these particular situations have happened. Did you know that if you took 100 children, split 50 into homes where the subject of God and the bible (not religion) are mentioned often, and the parents are more involved.... then took the other 50 and put them in homes where they spend most of their time with hired care with little to none mention of God or the bible.... the kids who are aware of the bible and who have a better relationship with their parents are more obedient and are more hesitant to do the wrong thing. Where as the other children have more of an "I dont care attitude" and "I can do anything I want" Now of course there are some that stray outside of statistics... but this is a majority concept. | |

| Paradox Sins: 3,847 Xations: 14% ![]() | It's all still an excuse. Bad things don't happen because people don't belive in god, it happens cause we are selfish pricks, and christianity has some of the most selfish pricks on the planet. | |

I respect your views though, cuz honestly they help me look at things in a different light... but I still believe that the banishment of something so sacred, however controvertail it may be has a lot to do with it.
