| Scared of Being alone. This is my pic of my body. I was trying to have a look for this but I couldn't get it right and this was the best one of the bunch I think. I wanted teh pic in black & white to bring out the loneliness and coldness but didn't come off too well. Not sure whatelse I can tell you about the pic so everything else you will have to get from your own minds. Photographer: SiN-Xation Date: 4-18-02 Attached Images | |||

First, I would have changed the lighting ratio. It looks like it is a 3:1, I would have done about a 9:1. The position of the lights I would have also changed. I would have brought them further back, to create a harsher, or stonger light. You see, the further away a light source is, the "harsher it is. This is why winter light is so peircing, and summer light, though brighter, is softer, b/c the earth is closer to the sun in the summer. I would have raised the main light (the brighter one, the 9 light in the particular ratio that I would have done), and I to add an additional contrast, I would have left the print in the developer (probably the film as well), to give the final a contrastier look. Higher highlights, and blacker shadows. That was my way, my style in my photography classes, I liked my prints contrastier. You will see what I am talking about when I am able to post in this section, and I am not yet. As for changing your hair, Jillian, I don't know how much of the "feel" for the photograph that would change. It would change the "look" definitely, but the changes in lighting, both in the studio, and in the dark room would have the most profound effects on the print. If you would like me to shoot you sometime, let me know, we could redo this, and do it my way. Though I would like to try changing some of the aspects in the model, as well. I would like to shoot w/ your hair up, and down, as Hsoolien suggested, and also try different postions of your shoulders, arms and head, to project more body language. I'll quit babbling on now. | |

| Silver Knight Sins: 631 Xations: 0% ![]() | Just another suggestion, for lonelines in a picture, I would have my subject not look directly at the camera. It is too personal. Look just a bit to one side or the other. Also, try doing that and looking slightly downward as well. Good luck on your next attempt. If you want me to shoot it, I will. | |
