Survey of the Santa Cruz County Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, & Transgender

In 2001, the Community Foundation, with the help of independent research and evaluation consulting group, LaFrance Associates, conducted a survey and focus groups to learn about the needs of the LGBT community in Santa Cruz County. Results of these activities, compiled in 2002, were to be used for several purposes:

To guide the Community Foundation’s LGBT oriented grantmaking activities;
To raise public awareness of LGBT community needs;
To increase responsiveness of local services to LGBT communities; and
To document the ways that LGBT people contribute to Santa Cruz County.
Community members are encouraged to use the information available in the executive summary, complete report, or focus group summaries (all downloadable from this site) for policy, planning, and other efforts. However, we ask that when excerpting information or referring to these documents, the Community Foundation be cited as the source.

This is really true. That's main becuase most spanish/latino families are very religious and have old rtaditions and that's why many don't reveal themselves. But its not like you actually needed a study or survey to figure that out.
