iPhone 3G Solar Charging Case

For some reason it’s been next to impossible to find a 16GB black 3G iPhone where I live, but I have spent plenty of time playing with an 8GB model, and I can attest to the fact that battery life isn’t one of the phone’s strong points. To remedy this situation a bunch of third-party battery pack accessories have been hitting the market, but this is the first one I’ve seen that also incorporates a solar panel. Now obviously the iPhone can’t be powered by solar energy alone (at least with a panel this small) so the case also features a 1500 mAh battery that can be used to provide one full charge for your iPhone.

Sitting in the sun the case’s battery will take about 3 hours itself to recharge, and it also includes a mini USB cable allowing you to recharge other gadgets and electronics when the iPhone is topped off. The case will be available sometime in August in black or white for about $54.

well its a good idea and all Raven but I use my USB cable to keep my phone charged at work with my computer and so far its worked for me, but I'll try out these solar power carrying cases and see if they live up to all the hype

I'm actually surprised by guys that wear phones on their hip instead of in there pockets. Just seems gay, sorry i just does.

You know you right it does look serious gay. But this is actually pretty good for people who talk on their phones out in public, atleast have teh batteru completely charing the whole time.

Also good if you use your phone as a wireless modem. Even just a small charge can increase battery life alot. One yes thought for the need for a charger.

It's the idea I liked aout it alot. The times your phone is sitting in your car while you driving, the way from your car to work or inside the house. You talking atleast about a 25% increase in battery life in your phone and you don't have to change your habit with your phone or remember to charge it.

But its even better hands free, using the bluetooth while you drive or if you're doing something around the house and you need your hands free, yeah battery life will be cut short but at if you leave it charging while you're talking on the bluetooth i think that would work out just fine

Well one of the things is these days is more people are texting any way so they could remove most of the stuff on phones and even the dialing function and that would save on battery too lol.

true but what if one of these days, they can come up with an idea for texting like for example, instead of punching in letters, you could just talk into the bluetooth headset and what ever you say comes up on the screen sort of like that program i seen for desktops that Word uses to type onto the page, that same thing could be used for texting too while you drive, and if it sucks up alot of battery then there's always car chargers

It would be better for other phones but I'm guessing that the iphone is the only one having a major battery problem?

pretty much yeah but only if you spent time using the internet and the 3G is on for my iPhone I mean, I noticed that 3G sucks up all that battery power

I wonder what's the charge rate compare to an original charger.

Um not sure I have to check up on that and find out but I honestly think there's little difference but I'll check to make sure
