Limited Edition Engraved iPods Featuring The Simpsons

Now selling a collection of various sized iPods featuring one of three different custom engravings on the back including a ‘Bart Sk8′ logo, Homer saying D’Oh! and a ‘Homer Tested’ insignia. The available models include the iPod Classic in 160 or 80GB sizes, the iPod Nano in 8 or 4GB sizes, the iPod Shuffle in 2 or 1GB sizes and the iPod Touch in 32, 16 or 8GB sizes. Each iPod is limited to 2,000 pieces and is numbered on the back. You can also opt to have your name engraved on the back too, but keep in mind that could probably hinder any attempts to sell the player down the line.

The Simpsons-themed iPods appear to cost a bit more than the regular versions, which makes sense because of the engraving and licensing costs, but would it have been so hard to throw a couple episodes on the video capable models? Worst… marketing decision… ever.

these are cool!!! sucks that I already got my iPhone though, I use that as an iPod among some other stuff but yeah I like these right here

I don't like forced limited runs like this, it's all about creating a false lack of supply to a known demand

Simpsons haven't completely died out but its still now as much as it used to be say even a year ago. This would of been good when the movie came out atleast.

right!!! a nice promotion package plus a movie to go see, yeah apple would've banked a lot of cash from this if they thought about it at the time

Simpsons and all their stuff still goes strong, they might have seen faster sales with the movie, but since it's a limited run, they'll all likely sell

yeah I was thinking of something though, who is selling these iPod's Apple? cause I just came from the website and I didn't see these on there?

It could be third party rebranding, Apple does allow others to custom design the facade of their products and take care of selling them themselves.

hmm well I'll keep looking cause I haven't seen anything about these iPods yet, I'll just google these again and see what I can find
